Kloptet Terms of Use
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Welcome to Kloptet. These terms apply when you use the app. Please read them carefully. By using Kloptet, you agree to these terms.
Who are we?
Kloptet is operated by:
- Jelle Quisthoudt
- E-mail: info@kloptet.be
What is Kloptet?
Kloptet is a free tool. It helps you judge whether a message may be phishing or a scam. You can have a text, a link or a screenshot checked. The app then gives a verdict. In the app you will also find warnings and a quiz to practise.
Kloptet can be wrong
- Kloptet's verdict is an estimate. It is not a guarantee.
- A message that looks safe can still be a scam. And a genuine message can look suspicious.
- Scammers keep inventing new tricks. Kloptet does not always recognise them.
- Kloptet does not give legal, financial or security advice.
- You decide for yourself what you do with a message.
In doubt? How to stay safe
- Contact an organisation through its official channels. Type the website address yourself. Or call the number on your bank card, your invoice or the official website.
- Never use a link or phone number from a suspicious message.
- Did you give away bank details or codes? Call Card Stop immediately on 078 170 170.
- Have you been scammed? Inform the police. In an emergency, call 101 or 112.
- You can forward suspicious messages to suspicious@safeonweb.be.
Liability
We do our best to make Kloptet good and reliable. Still, we are not liable for damage caused by relying on a verdict from Kloptet. This applies to the extent that Belgian law allows.
This never limits our liability:
- for damage caused by intent or gross negligence on our part;
- for rights you have as a consumer that the law does not allow to be excluded.
We are not responsible for the content of other parties' websites. This also applies to the websites of Safeonweb, the CCB and the FSMA that you open from the app.
What you may not do
You use Kloptet in a fair way. So you may not:
- misuse Kloptet or use it to harm others;
- use Kloptet automatically or on a large scale, for example with scripts or bots;
- copy or collect data from Kloptet in bulk (scraping);
- try to break into, bypass or overload the service;
- send illegal content. You may only send the suspicious messages you want to have checked.
In case of abuse, we may limit or block your access to the service.
What you report to Kloptet
With "Warn others" you can report a suspicious message. This only happens after you confirm it. You then allow us to use your report anonymously to warn others.
We first remove the personal data. In the app we only show a short, anonymous description. We never show the original message.
Intellectual property
The app, the name Kloptet, the logo, the mascot Klopje, the texts and the design belong to the operator of Kloptet. They are protected by copyright and trademark law.
You may use the app for free for yourself. You may not copy, sell or change it, or present it as your own work. This is only allowed with our written permission.
Availability
We want Kloptet to always work. But we cannot promise that. Sometimes the service is briefly unavailable, for example because of maintenance or a fault.
We may change Kloptet, interrupt it temporarily or stop it. The app is free. You are therefore not entitled to compensation if this happens.
App Store and Google Play
Do you download Kloptet through the App Store or Google Play? Then their terms also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms. They are not responsible for the app or for support for the app.
Privacy
To learn how we handle your data, read our privacy policy.
Changes
We may change these terms. If we change something, we will announce it in the app. The date of the latest version is always shown at the top. Do you keep using Kloptet after a change? Then you accept the new terms. Do you not agree? Then you can stop using the app and remove it.
Applicable law and courts
These terms are governed by Belgian law. In case of a dispute, the Belgian courts have jurisdiction.
This does not affect the rules that protect you as a consumer. For example, the rules on which court has jurisdiction.
